Steven Broschart and Ingo Schommer (core developer) — installation, configuration, practice.
The world's first book on the PHP-based open-source CMS from New Zealand — written in collaboration with Ingo Schommer, core developer at SilverStripe, published in German and English.
SilverStripe is a combination of an MVC framework and a classic content management system. In 2008, on the initiative of Galileo Press (today Rheinwerk), the first specialist book on the system was created. It moves from installation, configuration and the MVC pattern through to best practices, scaling, multilingualism and SEO. The second half of the book brings the fundamentals together in a hands-on project — from the concept to the finished application.
First half of the book: fundamentals, configuration, best practices. Second half: a connected hands-on project — a complete application built with SilverStripe.
Published in 2009 — the first comprehensive publication on the open-source CMS originating in New Zealand, in German and English.
SilverStripe is not just a content management system, but also a fully fledged MVC framework — the book explains both sides.
The fundamentals are put into practice in a coherent project — from concept to deployment.
Co-authored with one of SilverStripe's core developers — direct insight into architecture and best practices.
